Adaptation as an Ongoing Process
As climate conditions shift, new scientific data will continue to emerge. It may also take time to see the benefits of changes in farming practices. Viewing adaptation as an iterative, flexible process — rather than a one-time decision — can make it easier to respond as conditions evolve. Farmers' on-farm experience and expertise are invaluable for gauging how well adaptation strategies are working. Guidance on monitoring and evaluating strategies is provided in Step 5.
